Greener Living
  
Following on from my weekly Guardian Weekend column, The Green House, I find myself writing more about aspects of greener living – from high-tech energy –saving gadgets to simple things like growing salad, making cakes and mending clothes. Far from an image of frugality and doing without, I passionately believe that consuming less can actually make our lives more enjoyable and pleasurable, and have been working on two books on this subject - The Wonderful Weekend Book: Reclaiming the Weekend with Life’s Simple Pleasures, to be published by John Murray in October 2008 and, with Ros Badger, Home Made: Stylish Seasonal Craft Ideas that do not Cost the Earth, to be published by Harper Collins in Spring 2009.
